Driven by excellence, Timo works with a diverse range of industry partners from the environment, health, technology and finance sector.
Timo is a behavioural architect and expert in building engaging social marketing programs that help our people and planet. He uses a suite of behavioural theories, gamification and co-creation to build, engage and move users from awareness to action and ultimately advocacy. He works with a diverse range of industry partners from the environment, health, technology and finance sector. Timo’s research (100+ peer-reviewed publications) produces impact and drives change for the better in Australia and abroad. His work has positively impacted thousands of lives across change projects such as Blurred Minds, O-it, 5 a day, REMI, and Traffic and he has trained thousands of professionals and students through his masterclasses, workshops and university lectures.
His Current Projects
Funded by the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Program, the first pilot was launched in January 2020. The pilot aimed to get people to donate-it or buy goods from our pop-up shop. Over the next three years, we will be running a series of pilots and working with Australian charities to roll out a nationwide campaign in partnership with the Department of Environment & Science and NACRO. Blurred Minds is a cutting-edge alcohol education program that features five lessons and uses a suite of gamification resources to engage and deliver critical messages to Australian high-school students. In this project, he has developed world’s first Virtual Reality house party simulation which immerses students into a live-action adventure.
R.E.M.I (Robotic Empathy Machine Intelligence)
This innovative program combines augmented reality with gamification to teach empathy to young people. In partnership with Activate Entertainment, the team assesses the effectiveness of R.E.M.I by embedding a questionnaire into an augmented reality experience.
Viisi Per Päivä (Five A Day)
The Viisi Per Päivä aimed to get Finnish children to eat more fruit and vegetables (F&V) every day. We developed a 3-month-program to get children excited about tasting, eating and cooking different fruit and vegetables.
