Associate Professor Peiyi Ding is the Deputy Director of Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University in Australia which is the first and only Confucius Institute with an emphasis on tourism in the world.  AProf Ding received his BSc degree from Xinjiang University and MSc degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences in China, and his PhD from the University of New England in Australia. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences at The University of Melbourne, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow from the University of Queensland. Before joining the Griffith University in 2012, Dr. Ding was the Senior Research Fellow and Program Director (China) at the School of Tourism of The University of Queensland. His main research area is environmental management for tourism development with a particular focus on environmental auditing for tourism organisations. He has extensive research and consultancy experiences in such areas as tourism planning in China and tourism education issues related to China. Over the years AProf Ding has been involved in a number of projects such as “the review of ADS Report“ funded by The Australian Government in conjunction with the China Tourism Academy team.  He has published extensively in tourism areas including books, book chapters, international conference presentations and papers in academic tourism journals. AProf Ding is the member of Expert Committee of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) and has served as a guest editor for the journal of Current issues in Tourism on Special Issues for China Tourism Research. He is the Editorial Board Member of Tourism Tribune, Tourism Sciences  and Tourism and Hospitality Prospects.
