Tapan has a strong media presence. He has appeared in ABC Science, Sky News, SBS, ABC Brisbane, Brisbane Times and The Conversation. Tapan and his work has also been featured internationally in VTV Mongolia and Vientiane Times.
Tapan has provided training and management consultation to a number of organisations, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Laos, and the Mongolian Revenue Authority. He is a former World Bank scholar and was a Visiting Professor at Soka University (2019) and Keio University (2014-2015) in Japan. He was also a Scholar-in-Residence at IIM Calcutta (2017), the only triple crowned management education institute in India.
Tapan is widely published in the area of corporate social responsibility and sustainability and climate change. Tapan has been a Chief Investigator of a range of interdisciplinary projects supported by competitive / external funding through the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Australian Council for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank. He has supervised four PhD students to completion.
