Naomi Birdthistle has entrepreneurship in her blood. She has worked in her family business for over 20 years and has run her own consulting business. Naomi has studied in Scotland (Stirling University - BA Hons) Ireland (University of Limerick – Masters by Research and PhD) and America (Babson College [1-year undergraduate program and an Executive Education program] and Harvard University [Summer school and an Executive Education program]).
Her passion for entrepreneurship is evident by her research outputs. She has published 29 peer-reviewed papers, two books with a 3rd book being published in January 2020; 10 book chapters (with seven more currently under review), 55 conference papers and abundance of national and European reports.
Based on an ASEAN Council Grant, Naomi’s research has had significant impact as the Sarawak Government has committed RM15million to provide targeted support for women entrepreneurs. Since coming to Australia less than four years ago she has received $832,000 in grants, philanthropic funding and/or consulting contracts.
