Biography

Professor Eduardo Roca is currently Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Finance and Financial Planning Discipline of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Griffith Business School, Griffith University. His expertise is in the field of finance, particularly in the areas of international financial market integration and linkages, international portfolio diversification, and alternative investments encompassing socially responsible investment, water investment, and carbon market investment. He obtained a PhD in international finance at Griffith University. He has published more than 70scholarly/scientific articles in highly reputable scholarly journals including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, European Journal of Finance, Applied Economics, Economic Modelling, Australian Journal of Management, and Accounting and Finance.

He is currently on the Editorial Board of the following scholarly journals: Australasian Accounting, Business and Finance Journal; Accounting, Accountability & Performance; and Deakin Business Review. He has supervised to successful completion several PhD students. In addition to Griffith University, he has also taught at the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Southern Queensland and was previously a visiting scholar at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada), York University (Toronto, Canada), Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden) and Skovde University (Sweden). He also has had extensive experience in business, venture capital, government and non-governmental organisations in his capacity as a consultant, investment officer and as a businessman himself.
