Dr Benjamin Liu obtained a PhD in Finance at Monash University, Australia and a Master’s degree (Distinction-the highest class) at Massey University, New Zealand. My expertise and research interests include the field of finance and investments, particularly in the areas of corporate finance and corporate governance, mortgage finance and housing related research, alternative investments, and global financial markets. I have made a number of presentations at academic conferences and seminars, and have published more than 30 scholarly articles in well-known international journals, such as Australian Journal of Management, Accounting and Finance, International Review of Economics and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Applied Economics and The Finsia Journal of Applied Finance. I have supervised five PhD students to successful complete their PhD degrees, and is currently supervising five PhD students and two finance honours students in the areas of corporate governance, mortgage pricing, social and affordable housing investments. To support my research, I have obtained funding from competitive funding agencies, associations, the private sector and universities. I also have had extensive industry experience in finance, investments, project finance, and business management.
