Celebrating and rewarding outstanding staff performance
The Pro Vice Chancellor (Business) Staff Excellence Awards were initiated in 2008 as a means of recognising, celebrating and rewarding the outstanding performance and significant contributions to the School by our staff in areas not acknowledged through other reward and incentive schemes.
The Award categories are aligned with the School's Vision, Mission and Values and recognise those remarkable staff whose actions support Griffith Business School in furthering our Strategy 2017 - 2020.

Performance Excellence Award
This award recognises sustained excellence in service to Griffith Business School and / or Griffith University over a minimum three-year period. The award demonstrates the importance and criticality of performance excellence if the School is to achieve its strategic and operational goals. Although originally conceived of as an award for professional and general staff who provide outstanding service to the School and the University, it is also open to academic staff. Both individual staff members and teams are eligible.
Responsible Leadership Award
This award recognises staff who demonstrate responsible leadership in their professional and/or personal endeavours and actions that have inspired, developed and supported others to be socially responsible business leaders. The leadership should be sustained for a period of time, and demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and ethical behaviour and respect for others, such as embracing diversity and inclusiveness.
Engagement Award
This award recognises outstanding service that enhances the School's engagement with industry, government, alumni and/or the social communities we serve. The service should be sustained for a period of time, have resulted in a mutually beneficial partnership or collaboration, and demonstrate how it has contributed to enhancing the School's reputation and profile. This award recognises the importance and criticality of strong ties with, and contributions to the community
Innovation Award
This award recognises innovation and agility in either service delivery, learning and teaching, and/or community relationship building, in or on behalf of Griffith Business School. The innovation(s) must be sustained, recognised by others, and transformational (demonstrable outcomes of positive change), and be relevant to new and emerging challenges in the higher education sector. The award demonstrates the importance of ongoing innovation in all that we do, and acknowledges staff who are committed to help build a future-focused community to achieve sustained improvements in support of our Strategy 2017 - 2020.
Global Orientation Award
This award recognises a staff members commitment to preparing students to have a global orientation, with a special focus on the Asia region, in either service delivery or the student learning experience. The service and/or learning experience (including co- and extra-curricular activities) should be sustained for a period of time, be related to the development of cutting-edge business knowledge and skills, and have resulted in students feeling more globally connected.
Sustainable Business Practices Award
This award recognises remarkable leadership in progressing the School's goals of sustainable development, either through the development and implementation of sustainable practices within the School or through research and teaching initiatives that inform sustainable business practices in the broader community. This leadership must be manifested in concrete actions that change the way we and/or the communities we serve to operate, and must be evident over a sustained period of time.
