Mr Alex Leung, Ms Lyn Ling and Ms Rebecca Stanley from CFA Society Sydney talked about how the CFA program could help students develop skills and recognition highly demanded in today's increasingly competitive world. This 1-hour session covered topics including the CFA program, CFA scholarship, CFA University Research Challenge and post-study employment opportunities.

Mr Alex Leung

Corporate Actuary, ClearView Wealth Limited

With 7 years of financial services experience, Alex Leung is currently a corporate actuary at ClearView Wealth Limited focusing on analysis of company operating performance, budgeting, capital projection and business valuation. He is involved in the preparation of management and regulatory reports for both internal and external stakeholders. This covers the CFO, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), and Financial Condition Reports (FCR).

He is also an active volunteer of professional bodies such as the CFA Society of Sydney and the Actuaries' Institute. At CFA Sydney Society he is a member of the Education and University Outreaching Committees. He has a strong interest in history and global politics.

Alex is Australian National University (ANU) graduate with a Bachelor (Honours) in Actuarial Studies and is CFA charterholder.

Ms Lyn Ling

Financial Planner, Commonwealth Bank of Australia

Lyn Ling is an experienced Financial Planner at Commonwealth Bank of Australia with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. She has specialist skills in wealth accumulation strategies, transition to retirement strategy, retirement planning, and wealth protection strategies.

Previously, Lyn worked in AMP wealth management for about 4 years. She is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and aspirations and become financially independent through financial coaching and guidance.

She is a strong finance professional graduated from Macquarie University with a bachelor of Commerce. She also has Advanced Diploma of financial planning, self- managed super fund and gearing accreditation.

Ms Rebecca Stanley

Manager, Financial Risk Management advisory team, KPMG

Rebecca is currently a Manager in the Financial Risk Management advisory team in Sydney.

She originally joined KPMG London as part of the Financial Services Audit and has since delivered a variety of assurance and advisory services to a range of clients, primarily in the investment banking sector.

Over the last 2 years, Rebecca has primarily focused on Operational risk; working on control transformation engagements in London to help organisations design effective and efficient risk and control frameworks.

During this time she has also worked on a number of Benchmark assurance engagements as well as working alongside a number of Banking audit teams to provide assurance over the valuations and methodologies used to determine the fair values in statutory accounts.
