Hear from our students

Jody Kallis

Bachelor of Midwifery student

"Midwifery at Griffith is quite different to other university degrees in that we do not do our placements in blocks. We begin placement at the hospitals and outreach clinics straight away and our weekly shifts continue throughout the entire degree. Midwifery is not a profession you can learn theoretically; it’s a hands-on career and there is no better place to learn than alongside qualified midwives in real life situations."

Hayley Clarke

Bachelor of Midwifery student

"At Griffith, we have a combination of intensive blocks on campus and online study, which was a game changer for me – I went on and applied as soon as I discovered Griffith’s course. Being able to complete my placement on the Sunshine Coast also helped me choose Griffith, as it means there’s no disruption to my part-time job. And completing all of my placement in the one facility really helps me consolidate my knowledge throughout the semester."
