Attention all maths and science graduates
The STEAM: Teacher Education Centre of Excellence has been established to improve the quality of graduate teachers in schools to meet the needs of 21st century learners. It is an innovative partnership between Benowa State High School, Helensvale State High School, Merrimac State High School and Griffith University.
A key focus of the Centre is on preparing preservice teachers for teaching in the digital world of Queensland state schools across a range of school contexts.
This school-based program for preservice teachers will focus on the development of highly effective practices (teachers, schools and systems) that continuously improve student learning underpinned by:
- high expectations
- deep knowledge
- targeted teaching
- continuous monitoring
Talented preservice teachers committed to working in Queensland state schools will have greater opportunities to develop teacher attributes in a clinical and applied program led by effective school-based teachers.
