About the service
In 2018 active Griffith students and staff moved to the Microsoft 365 environment. Prior to the move, Griffith had an agreement to provide Google Apps for Education. This includes Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Drawings), Sites and Groups.
The suite of products is a web-based service, accessible through a web browser, tablets and smartphones, enabling users to collaborate in real time without any software compatibility issues.
Tools currently include:
- Google Docs - Create, share and collaborate on documents real-time from desktops, tablets and smartphones
- Google Drive - Store files in the cloud so they can be accessed from anywhere (the preferred alternative is to now use OneDrive for Business)
- Google Sites - Create ePortfolio’s, blogs or project websites
This service is available to
Academic staff, Professional staff, HDR students, Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students.
Note: This service is not available to Griffith alumni.
What can I expect?
- Google guarantee Drive and Sites are available 99.9% of the time. Productivity Applications aim to resolve logged requests within 5 days of notification of the problem, 95% of the time.
There is no cost associated with the use of this service.
