Griffith University Outstanding Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate the diverse achievements of our alumni, across their fields of endeavour and in their communities.

Alumni Award Academic Group Winners

The inaugural 2018 Outstanding Alumni Awards finalists from Griffith University’s Business, Health, Sciences, and Arts, Education and Law groups have been announced. Award categories include Outstanding Alumnus Award, Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, Outstanding International Alumnus Award and Outstanding First Peoples Alumnus Award.

Award Categories

Outstanding Alumnus Award

For the Outstanding Alumnus Award, nominees must have completed at least 40 credit points of study at Griffith University. Nominees must also have at least five (5) years’ work experience since the completion of their first Griffith University degree and demonstrate:

  • Sustained remarkable success in their chosen industry/profession
  • Sustained outstanding contribution to their industry/profession
  • Substantial contribution to the community at local, state, national or international levels. This may be part of employment in their chosen profession or, working as a volunteer in the charitable sector or in other ways.

Outstanding Young Alumnus Award

The Outstanding Young Alumnus Award nominees must have completed at least 40 credit points of study at Griffith University. Nominees will also be under 40 years old (on the due date of the nomination) with at least four (4) years’ work experience since the completion of their first Griffith University degree and demonstrate:

  • Remarkable success in their chosen industry/profession
  • Significant contribution to their industry/profession
  • Contribution to the community at local, state, national or international levels. This may be part of employment in their chosen profession or, working as a volunteer in the charitable sector or in other ways.

Outstanding International Alumnus Award

For the Outstanding International Alumnus Award nominees must have completed at least 40 credit points of study at Griffith University and have at least five (5) years’ work experience since the completion of their first Griffith University degree. As a student, they would have been enrolled as an international student. They will demonstrate:

  • Remarkable success in their  chosen industry/profession
  • Significant contribution to their  industry/profession
  • Contribution to the community at local, state, national or international levels. This may be part of employment in their chosen profession or, working as a volunteer in the charitable sector or in other ways.

Outstanding First Peoples Alumnus Award

For the Outstanding First Peoples Alumnus Award nominees must have completed at least 40 credit points of study at Griffith University and have at least five (5) years’ work experience since the completion of their first Griffith University degree. Nominees must also be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.  They will demonstrate:

  • Remarkable success in their chosen industry/profession
  • Significant contribution to their industry/profession
  • Contribution to the community at local, state, national or international levels. This may be part of employment in their chosen profession or, working as a volunteer in the charitable sector or in other ways.
