COVID-19 Normal risk setting: this is the typical base setting for relaxed restrictions across all Griffith campuses. COVID-19 normal safety ratings state that all activities are permitted with minimal restrictions as listed below.

Standard actions:

Likely scenarios:

  • Campus open with minimal restrictions.
  • Visitors are allowed on campus.

Staff, students and HDR candidates:

  • All staff, students and HDR candidates are allowed on campus.

Learning and Teaching:

  • No restrictions on class sizes.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL):

  • Minimal restrictions, subject to host organisation requirements.

Research:

  • No restrictions on research activities.

Events (non-academic):

  • All events can be planned and proceed with normal management approval and in compliance with Qld Gov COVID-19 Event Guidelines.

Operations and services:

  • Minimal restrictions

Commercial/retailers:

  • Minimal restrictions

Planning and response, locally managed as level 1 or 2 incident under Emergency Management Plan and by COVID in 2022 Working Group.

Travel:

National travel approved by Head of Element. International travel for staff and HDR candidates is allowed under specific circumstances, as outlined in the International travel guidelines. Approval is required by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) for academic staff and HDR candidates and the Chief Operating Officer for professional staff.

Standard actions:

  • Compliance with specific actions indicated by relevant Public Health orders
  • Other agreed and notified actions as relevant to situation and setting

Planning and response:

  • Management strategy by COVID in 2022 Working Group with actions approved by Executive Group/Vice Chancellor
  • Day-by-day incidents of infection locally managed as level 1 or 2 incident under Emergency Management Plan

If significant transmission incident on campus: treat as level 3 incident under Emergency Management Plan. Consider possible management by Emergency Management Team (see section 3.2.1 of Emergency Management Plan for composition of the EMT)

COVID-19 Campus closed – escalated from Amber setting based on National and/or State requirements, Vice Chancellor acting under guidance of COVID in 2022 Working Group, EMP, and/or Public Health
