An alternative study pathway
Continuing Education Certificates are designed for students seeking an alternative pathway into their preferred degree program, or wishing to develop their personal and professional skills in an area of their interest.
The certificate program structure comprises of part-time study over two semesters from the related degree program. As a Certificate student you will sit alongside the undergraduate students, and complete all requirements for the courses you undertake.
The Certificate programs can save time and money by enabling you to gain entry into your desired degree program, and also provide academic credit towards your related degree program and therefore reduce the time taken to complete your degree.
Upon successful completion of a certificate program, you will be awarded a boosted admission rank and gain full credit for the courses that you have completed once you commence the related program.
Successful completion of a Griffith University Continuing Education Certificate meets the English prerequisite only. All other prerequisite subjects for continuing education students must be met in the normal way.

Testimonial by Leyla Mustafa
After Year 12, I found work with a financial company. Four years on, I knew I wanted a change and was interested in studying either education or psychology.
But I wasn't sure of the process of getting into university because I didn't have an OP when I left school. Then I discovered that Griffith offered the Continuing Education Certificate in Education Studies and so I enrolled for one-year part-time.
I received High Distinctions and Distinctions for all my subjects so it was gratifying to realise that I could still study and do well after all these years. I'm now in the second year of a Bachelor of Education - Primary degree at the Gold Coast and I love it. The certificate was definitely the right thing for me because without this opportunity I wouldn't have been able to get into university. It definitely opened doors.
Paying your fees and charges
Tuition fees are charged per course, per semester. Fees are payable in full by the Census date of each semester, to avoid a late payment penalty and cancellation of enrolment.
As a Griffith student, you are required to be aware of all important dates. Students are advised to view the Academic Calendar carefully to become familiar with important dates including commencement of semester, enrolment and withdrawal and refund dates.
Direct entry following successful study
Once you have successfully completed the Continuing Education Certificate program and have a minimum GPA of 4 and meet any other pre requisite or entry requirements you may submit an application directly to Griffith University for entry to a related Undergraduate program. Please refer to the Application for Direct Admission to an Undergraduate Program form (PDF 51k) for lodgement information.
