The Health and Physical Education: Initial Teacher Education Summit 2017 is seizing the opportunity presented by the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games to focus on health, sport and education in schools.
Griffith University is an Official Partner of GC2018 and is proud to host this exciting event with the support of the Queensland Deans of Education and the Queensland College of Teacher (QCT).
We are expecting more than 250 delegates from all school systems and sectors in Queensland (including school leaders and teachers), higher education institutions, initial teacher education students, professional associations, health and physical education bodies and P&C Associations.
Join MC Nicole Livingstone, for a highly interactive conversation with contributions from guest speaker CEO of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), Mark Peters, sports personality Sally Pearson, expert panel discussions and interesting case studies. All attendees will shape the summit outcomes via group discussion and shared digital platforms to produce a communique.
The summit will seek:
- to identify the HPE issues and challenges in Initial Teacher Education
- co-construct a shared HPE philosophy in Initial Teacher Education
- co-construct a shared HPE framework for Initial Teacher Education by identifying shared actions and strategies for HPE learning and teaching in Initial Teacher Education.
