The Diploma provides an interdisciplinary approach to the field of health science. It focuses on the biological and biochemical aspects of health science and provides a firm grounding in chemistry, cell biology, and anatomy.

My attendance during the program

The Diploma of Health Sciences program is offered full-time and part-time on-campus. As a full-time student, you will generally attend 16 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the trimester. As a part-time student, you will generally attend 4 -12 hours of scheduled classes per week.

To be classed as a full-time student, you are required to enrol in a minimum number of credit points each trimester. This may affect your entitlement to Centrelink benefits. The minimum number of credit points for full-time enrolment in this program are 30 credit points.

Admission requirements
Academic entry requirements - Griffith College requires that you have completed Australian year 12 (or equivalent) to qualify for entry. Most programs also have pre-requisites and/or assumed knowledge. Refer to the program guide for specific details.

What is the application process?

This program is available to domestic students applying to study at Griffith College. Domestic applicants should apply for admission through the Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre (QTAC).

Applications for Foundation program must be completed online.

Can I apply for credit?

Formal study undertaken at an overseas institution will be recognised to the extent to which it is considered to be equivalent to study at a recognised tertiary institution in Australia.

Students applying for credit transfer must complete the Application for Credit Transfer Form. Applications may then be submitted to Griffith College by post or email. If sending by email, the certified copies of the originals must also be posted.

An International student is a person who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident or holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa.

This program is available to International students applying to study in Australia at Griffith College. Students wishing to undertake this program will require a student visa or another type of visa which does not preclude them from studying in Australia.
