More than 15 per cent of Australians speak languages other than English at home, such as Arabic, Cantonese, Greek, Italian, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland and has a population of over 2 million people. Brisbane is located less than an hour drive from the beaches of the Gold Coast and just over an hour to the Sunshine Coast.

Brisbane has numerous parks and green spaces with which you can relax, play sport or meet friends for a barbecue. With an average of 261 days of sunshine each year there is plenty of time to explore the outdoor spaces.

Cost of living in Australia

Brisbane is an affordable city but you will need to budget to make sure you can afford to live the way you want to. Make sure you meet the financial requirements at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and if you are bringing your family to Australia you need to consider the living costs associated with having them here with you.
