In the Honours announced on Australia Day 2019, the late Emeritus Professor Patrick Troy was made a Companion of the Order of Australia for 'eminent service to urban and regional planning, to environmental sustainability and social justice policy, and as a mentor and role model.'
Those of us who knew Pat and had the opportunity to work with him will appreciate that this citation captures very well his contribution to our field. We will continue to award prizes in Pat's name to undergraduate planning students who produce excellent Honours theses in this area.
