Who can access your centres?
Our Early Childhood and Education Centres are open to Griffith University staff, students and the community.
What ages does your service cater for?
We cater for children from three months old to five years of age.
What are your hours of operation?
We open at 7:30am and we close at 6:00pm. We are open for 50 weeks of the year and close for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.
Do you provide food or nappies for my child?
No we don’t provide food or nappies for your child.
What happens after I submit my waiting list application form?
• Contact you within the week to confirm that we have processed your application- (via phone call or email).
• Book a time for you to visit the centre to discuss your child and family needs.
• Confirm required date for a position (Please remember there is no guarantee of a spot on the requested date based on current vacancies and staff ratios).
• The service will update the waiting list every 3 months (via email).
If my child’s booked day falls on a public holiday, do I still pay for the day?
If your scheduled book day falls on a public holiday, fees will still apply as staff and operating costs still need to be covered. The Australian Government’s Child Care Benefit (CCB) covers up to 42 absence days a year, which include public holidays.
Do I still need to pay for a scheduled day if my child is sick?
Yes, you still need to pay for the scheduled day if your child is sick. The Child Care Benefit will cover up to 42 absence days a year with no documentation and unlimited sick days if you’re able to provide a medical certificate or similar.
How many days do I have to book in?
We have a requirement of at least two days as this helps a child to settle into a program.
Once offered a position for my child do I need to do orientation?
There is an expectation that you will commit to at least one-two weeks of orientation to help your child to develop attachment relationships with our staff team.
