Engage with fellow student researchers

The Student Research Symposium is an opportunity for student researchers to come together and share their work in a safe environment. The event aims to provide a supportive atmosphere where EFRI-affiliated candidates can present their work and receive feedback, be informed of current research, and further develop presentation skills. As active participants, students are strongly encouraged to be involved in the organisation of the symposium, partake in presentation sessions, and facilitate feedback mechanisms for student presentations and the overall symposium.

HDR Student Representatives

Each year the Centre for Planetary Health and Food Security Management Committee appoints a student from Gold Coast and Nathan Campus to be part of the committee and to represent the students voice within the committee. The EFRI Student reps also run and facilitate the EFRI Student Symposium. The EFRI Student Symposium is run by the students and for the students and is a great opportunity to hone their presentation skills while networking with peers.

These are typical conference presentations, given within a strict 15 minute period and allowing for a few minutes of questions.

A short presentation (5 minutes)

These shorter talks are suitable for people just beginning their research and is a great opportunity to introduce themselves and their topic. These short talks are presented in groups of three.

A poster presentation

Authors are expected to remain near their poster for the duration of the poster session.

Students are encouraged to utilise this opportunity to network with fellow EFRI scholars and obtain peer feedback on their research. Please note, this in an informal event.
