This is your final opportunity to apply for a select few GC2018 internship roles - don't miss your chance!
GC2018 Games Intern Eligibility
To undertake a GC2018 Games Internship you must be:
- a current Griffith student, and have completed 60 credit points of your undergraduate degree program (60CP not applicable for postgraduate students) at the time of the internship period
- available to intern full-time hours in the 12 week period offered (these may fall outside of standard business hours during P7)
- able to enrol in a nominated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) 40CP course
We still have some great roles available in high demand areas.
Can I do an internship if I don’t have 40CP capacity left in my program?
If you are enrolled in a program with less than 40CP of free electives, or a program in which it is not possible to substitute a work-integrated learning course or core courses, you may be able to undertake the Internship course by completing additional credit points. This will result in a greater volume of learning, adding to the costs to obtain your award.
If you are a domestic student, the University will pay your student contribution for the credit points undertaken in the Games Internship course in excess of the total number of credit points required.
If you are an international student you must check with Griffith International whether you can extend your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) to undertake the Games Internship as additional study. If you receive, approval to extend your CoE the University shall include the additional cost of undertaking the Games Internship course in your annual program fee.
Can I do an internship if I’m eligible to graduate at the end of this trimester?
If you are currently enrolled in courses, such that you will be eligible to graduate at the end of the current trimester, but not commenced study in your final trimester you will need to discuss with your Program Director the suitability of undertaking the internship course at this point in your degree. If the Program Director is supportive and core courses are to be substituted, you need to upload the completed and signed form Approval of Games Internship for the purpose of determining eligibility to Graduate at the point of application for an internship.
Can I do an internship instead of my honours dissertation courses?
Does an internship affect my Centrelink payments?
Students dependent upon Student Income Support from the Australian Government are also advised to ensure you will maintain full-time enrolment in each semester/trimester (other than Summer/Trimester 3) to continue to be eligible for income support payments.
Partner Internships (10/20CP)
As a GC2018 Partner, the University has developed relationships with other commercial organisations that have relationships with the Games. These organisations are providing exciting internship opportunities across many industries.
These internships are generally for 1-2.5 days per week through existing Workplace Integrated Learning courses –ask the WIL coordinator for your program for further info.
