Griffith Business School Student Leadership Program
This two-year program gives selected students from the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses the opportunity to participate in a variety of leadership development and mentoring activities (including a two-day Leadership Development Camp); participate in University and alumni events; and represent the School at major events. Applications for this program are sought in September each year.
Gain real-world professional experiences
“The Student Leaders Program has given me real-world professional experiences. I've been to networking events, and interacted with alumni of Griffith, so now I know how to interact with people in the workforce and also through seminars, develop my professional skills. So now I know that if I go out into the world I will be able to do public speaking, I am already able to set up my personal brand, I know how to do my LinkedIn and so on.
This program has really set me up to be able to take that next step into my career instead of finishing uni and being unsure of where I want to go next. This program has really let me build that bridge between university and professional life.”
“Taking part in the Student Leadership Program has definitely improved my confidence, especially with public speaking. All through university you have to do public speaking and that’s something I’ve struggled with. But now I have much more confidence. I can do public speaking on the spot if I need to, doesn’t matter if it’s a small or big group! Even talking to people one on one I’m much better at now, I can hold much longer conversations and I am not afraid to go out and network with business people.”
Congratulations to our GBS Student Leader Valedictorians
GBS Student Leaders Alvin Yap and Kaustubh (Duby) Mamdyal were recently announced as Valedictorians for the Class of 2016. They were voted by their peers as being the leaders who best encapsulated the values and spirit of the program.
As Valedictorians the pair will make the final speech at the 2016 GBS Student Leadership Program Graduation ceremony, write the Yearbook forward, and complete the official "handing over" to the new leaders as they become the Seniors of 2016.
Congratulations to Alvin and Kaustubh on receiving this honour. They have been outstanding role models, as well as exemplary advocates for the School.
