Global WIL Ambassadors 2019
Global Ambassadors share how undertaking a Global Mobility Business Internship facilitates both personal and professional development.
New Colombo Plan funding of up to $3,000 per eligible Australian undergraduate student is available. This is a grant and is not re-paid.
Eligible students can apply for an OS-HELP loan of up to $8,444. OS-HELP is a loan scheme provided by the Australian Government specifically to support global mobility experiences. It is not considered a grant, therefore approved students can receive this loan as well as a grant such as New Colombo Plan.
The New Colombo Plan (NCP) Global Mobility Internship has provided me with the opportunity to explore cultural awareness within an international workplace setting.By doing so, I have been able to develop primary cross cultural communicative tactics, whilst learning how to better conform to international workplace ideologies.
This internship has positioned me strongly to attain workplace employment upon graduation, as I developed various skill sets pertinent to industry practice in my time with Allive Creative.
Additionally, I have been given the chance to employ certain frameworks learnt in a theoretical capacity into a practical context. I would highly recommend this internship to any student interested in working in global business environments. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope it provides the same experiences for future NCP mobility students.

Industry partner testimonial
Shannon Casey was an excellent intern and the Amartha Micro Fintech team was consistently impressed with the quality of her work.
Throughout the internship, Shannon displayed a high level of professionalism and motivation. She has a great attitude and completed all tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Shannon is a fast learner, keen to explore new things and quickly adapts to change. She was very helpful, asked questions to clarify her understanding and to meet expectations, and always went above and beyond to produce great outcomes. She also had the opportunity to present her outputs directly to the CEO of Amartha, Mr Andi Taufan Garuda Putra. He thanked her personally for the assistance she provided throughout her placement and hoped that the learning she gained during her internship at Amartha will be useful for her in the future. Based on our positive experience with Shannon, we are very interested to host a further Griffith intern in the future.
Thank you for the opportunity.
