Griffith partners with Griffith College, TAFE and private providers to offer pathways into a Griffith degree
If you have successfully completed a Griffith College diploma, you are guaranteed direct entry into a related Griffith bachelor degree. For more information on the range of diploma programs available please visit Griffith College.
Many of our degrees offer guaranteed direct entry for graduates of an Australian Qualifications Framework advanced diploma or diploma completed at an Australian TAFE institute. Qualifications completed with other providers can also increase your chances of gaining a place at Griffith. You could also gain credit through your pathway study, enabling you to complete your degree faster.

How to apply
1. Select your degree
Explore our comprehensive range of degrees available at our study website.
2. Check entry requirements
Check the entry requirements specific to your chosen degree via our study website.. Applications are assessed on eligibility (subject prerequisites and other entry criteria) and merit (OP, ATAR or Rank). Some degrees may require you to meet additional criteria, including audition, interview or portfolio.
OP, ATAR, IB and Rank
An Overall Position is the tertiary entrance rank assigned to eligible Year 12 students in Queensland based on their performance in senior secondary school subjects. An Australian Tertiary Admission Rank is the rank assigned to eligible Year 12 students in other Australian states and territories. Some high schools also offer the Diploma of the International Baccalaureate program. If you do not have OP, ATAR or IB, you can still receive an admissions rank on the basis of previous secondary schooling, tertiary, bridging and preparatory studies, tertiary admissions tests or work experience and qualifications.
Assumed prior knowledge
For most Griffith degrees, an English subject is the only prerequisite. Some degrees assume you have studied certain subjects at school and that you’ll be able to build on this knowledge at university. Check out our pages on assumed prior knowledge.
3. Check fees and degree duration
You can find indicative fees for specific degrees via our study website. Domestic students studying an undergraduate degree may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place. This means you pay a student contribution for your degree with the majority of the cost covered by the Australian Government. You can visit our fees and charges section to find out more about costs.
Most of our undergraduate degrees can be completed in three years when studied full time. Check out the study website to see the duration of your chosen program.
From 2017, we’ll be teaching across three trimesters, rather than two semesters, which gives you the flexibility to pace your study to suit your needs. You will have greater flexibility as well as the ability to fast-track your degree by studying in our new trimester teaching periods.
4. Lodge your application
TAFE diploma and advanced diploma graduates can apply for direct entry to Griffith using the TAFE direct admission scheme link below. If your preferred Griffith University degree is excluded from direct entry, you will need to apply for admission via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre or Universities Admissions Centre.
