Griffith Film School has built great relationships and partnerships within the industry and sponsors a number of events. It is our aim to build upon our great local talent and encourage further collaboration and involvement in the screen media industries.

Recent Sponsorships include:

Gold sponsorship of the Gold Coast Film Festival

Gold Coast Film FestivalThe Gold Coast is an epicentre for feature film production in Australia with over 75% of all Queensland production occurring here. The Gold Coast Film Festival is the local access point to that industry and a source of exciting and emerging screen culture experiences for the residents of South East Queensland. The festival is also proud to be the premier showcase event for feature films and has a vested interest in the promotion, development and fostering of Australian film making talent.

The Gold Coast Film Festival also ensures that Gold Coast audiences have access to culturally diverse films and screen-based entertainment, including the Cool Japan Gold Coast event to be held as part of the 2011 festival. Family friendly screenings are held at the splendorous Southport Broadwater Parklands, while industry leaders will provide seminars and workshops for upcoming local film makers.

Silver sponsorship of the Atom Awards 2011

Atom Awards Logo1The ATOM Awards was established in 1982 by the Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) - an independent, non-profit association promoting media education and screen literacy in primary, secondary and tertiary education and the broader community. Each year the ATOM Awards recognise excellence in over thirty categories of Film, Television, Animation and Multimedia and celebrate the very best of Australian and New Zealand production.

The ATOM Awards program is designed to acknowledge the work that our current and future talent is contributing to the big screen, across a wide range of media. The awards provide access to young opinion and peer leaders to organisations who are seeking to raise awareness about important issues.

The focus of the ATOM Awards is on media forms that young people continue to use. Students who have made work to submit to the ATOM Awards have had to be creative, energetic, good at organising and full of ideas. They tend to be active members of their peer networks. By working with the ATOM Awards to raise an issue, an organisation is able to gain the participation of this group of young people in a high profile public forum.

This major Victorian held screen culture event annually attracts a large number of students, production companies, independent filmmakers, educational bodies and educational producers all of whom are keen to submit their best work and have it judged alongside their peers.
