We are focused on providing GFS students with the best possible experiences and professional development tools.
LiveLab is the professional commercial arm of the Griffith Film School. If you are looking for diverse and innovative film ideas, specialised and capable staff, students and alumni can assist in providing a product that meets your needs.
While the work students do for LiveLab is not formally accredited to their work-integrated-learning (WIL) requirements, LiveLab projects are included in this practice. The key difference is that formal WIL usually places students within ongoing industry projects.
Students enrolled in our Community Engagement Project and Professional Practice courses work on projects for external clients from conception through to delivery.
'Community Engagement Project' is a core 2nd year course across Film, Animation and Games and brings cross-disciplinary teams of animators, filmmakers, composers and digital media creators together in teams, to produce short video and digital media programs for worthy community clients like Riding for the Disabled and Children's Hospital in-house TV.
'Professional Practice' is a 3rd year elective open to Film, Animation and Games students and provides the opportunity for work experience in a professional studio environment. The aim is to foster the development of reflective practitioners. Students will develop a working knowledge of organisational culture, technical skills and ethics in a commercial film, animation or games practice and will emerge with a critically informed understanding of their major area of study in a professional context.
