Griffith Film School OutsideThis is the start of your career as a filmmaker, animator or games designer. Studio skills and research methods are developed, ideas challenged and experimentation encouraged. By integrating theory and practice and encouraging independent enquiry, you will develop an appreciation of the artist's role in contemporary society as well as become equipped for a career in a particular visual arts field.

The Griffith Film School consolidates and expands our vocationally-based digital and film making offerings. We are one of the largest film schools in the country, providing a unique focus for Australia's creative arts.

We teach cutting edge creation and development work for multimedia and digital game development, 2D and 3D animation and effects in addition to film and television production. With film, video and animation projects it is also possible to collaborate with the Conservatorium students.                       

 Our degree programs have an industry focus, and have been developed with the assistance of professional bodies. You will develop a wide range of skills and experience and you can expect to be in demand because Griffith Film School graduates have an outstanding record in gaining employment locally, nationally and internationally.

As a GFS student, you have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. HD Cam 750 Camcorders, Super 16mm Camera with Video Split, Multicam TV Studio, Soundstage including a large green Cyclorama, Winchable Lighting hoists, HD Cam Edit Suites, Cintique Lab, Games Lab,motion capture rig, stop motion facilities, 5.1 Surround Sound Record and Mix, Voice over Booth, FCP, Avid, Protools.

Griffith Film School acknowledges the traditional owners of the land where Griffith University South Bank stands, the Turrbal and Yuggera people.

Professional recognition

We have a strong commitment to community partnerships and internationalisation. You will work with community organisations, business and government on a variety of projects throughout your program. The business community supports students through scholarships, travel prizes and exhibitions.

This support, and the assistance of Griffith International, help us provide a rich array of international experiences for you. Many students take up the chance to study in cities such as Los Angeles, Edinburgh or Alberta for a semester during their degree. These experiences are complemented by the strong international student enrolment at Griffith Film School, which enriches the everyday experience of students during their studies.
