Celebrating the cultural & creative growth of the Gold Coast.

The second annual Gold Coast Creative Yearbook is a contemporary, functional and stylish magazine, showcasing the unique design strengths and diversity of the Gold Coast.

The 2011 edition features a colourful and creative mix of editorial content—emerging artists, groundbreaking architecture and innovative community projects—and once again highlights the growth of ‘the arts’ in the region.
Martin Winter, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Coast Tourism, has added his support to the project.

“The Gold Coast’s unique environment, encompassing our beautiful coastline, heritage-listed rainforests, innovative and welcoming public spaces and contemporary building design provides the perfect backdrop to encourage, motivate and direct creative pursuits and instruction,” Mr Winter said.

“We welcome students and visitors to discover the freedom and excitement of the Gold Coast region ...”

A collaboration between Griffith University and Sanctuary Cove Publishing, the magazine also features work from the 2011 graduating students of the Queensland College of Art (QCA) Gold Coast campus, as well as postgraduate research projects undertaken by staff and students.

Associate Professor Donal Fitzpatrick, Deputy Director, QCA (Gold Coast) is delighted by both the content and quality of the magazine.

“This excellent publication illustrates the substantial creative work being done by graduates of the Bachelor of Digital Media and Bachelor of Digital Media with Honours at the QCA Gold Coast campus of Griffith University. It is an impressive document demonstrating the creative potential of these graduates as they launch their professional careers,” Professor Fitzpatrick said.

“These dynamic Designers and Artists represent a vital resource for the Gold Coast and for the Australian creative sector more broadly. It is through the application of their creative talent that we will see the growth of the new industries of innovation and entrepreneurship emerge into our collective future. We wish them every success in fulfilling their creative ambitions.”

The 2011 Gold Coast Creative Yearbook was proudly produced by Sanctuary Cove Publishing and is available from over 200 selected newsagents for $19.95 (including GST). Gold Coast Creative Stockist List (627kb)
