Course Outline

This course deals with the analysis and construction of a sequential art narrative, or ‘comic’.   It is primarily concerned with the successful telling of story within the boundaries of the medium and as such all levels of drawing ability are welcome.

Content

Participants create their own short sequential art narrative using the medium of their own choosing.  Classes include script analysis, ‘thumbnailing’, the balance of image and words, abstraction of image, and an analysis of the relationship between author, reader and the text.  Creative fundamentals such as composition and perspective are also touched on.
