dstudio This program prepares you for professional practice as a commercial designer. By combining practical training and theoretical knowledge with an awareness of the social, environmental and industrial implications of design work, the program equips you for a dynamic future in industries that demand high professional standards and value creativity and innovative thinking.

The first year focuses on core industry-related activities and projects and the development of ideas and problem-solving techniques. Subsequent years involve undertaking an independent project and professional studies, and preparing a professional portfolio.

 

Interior design

Studying Interior Design at QCA will give you the skills to handle challenging roles in retail, hospitality, domestic and commercial sectors, events, exhibitions and trade shows, film and television modelling and set design; in fact any environment or space which requires people with a highly developed understanding of aesthetics, safety, sustainability and functionality in the design and development of interior spaces and fittings.

Product design

Studying Product Design at QCA will make you sought after in the design, production and manufacturing sectors; including consumer products, specialist industry furniture, lighting fixtures, packaging, exhibition and trade show display systems, signage and environmental graphics.

Our program prepares you for professional practice as a commercial designer. By combining practical training and theoretical knowledge with an awareness of the social, environmental and industrial implications of your work, we equip you for a dynamic future in industries that value creativity and demand high professional standards.

After successful completion of an honours year, graduates will be eligible for membership of the Design Institute of Australia.

Games design

As a blend of digital technologies and creative arts, this program provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of games design, production, management and evaluation.

Note:

The vast majority of Graphic Design and Advertising studios, here in Australia, are Mac based, while the majority of Interior and Product design studios are PC based.

We have no specific requirements but we will mention that the new Mac with the Intel chip will run in Windows mode or Mac mode with no loss of power. This enables you to run Windows only software or Mac only software.
