Storytelling is one of the oldest and most respected of human endeavors-- what we know of ourselves and others comes through the stories we tell. Visual storytelling allows us to communicate in ways which cannot be conveyed through other media.

In this degree program you will be introduced to the craft, politics and philosophy of such storytelling.

What can I study?

The Bachelor of Photography is a three year degree program which prepares you to become professional and innovative photo-media oriented journalists, artists and creative advertisers.

In year 1, your studies combine technical photographic courses, studio practice and art theory. You will develop an understanding of the politics and philosophies that underpin photography, receive a thorough grounding in the practice of photography, and develop your conceptual and craft skills.

In year 2, you will choose from one of three majors and refine your skills and knowledge base producing folio work.

  • Creative Advertising
  • Photographic Art Practice
  • Photojournalism

In year 3, your studies culminate in a year long individual project, where you will create a portfolio of images that displays your own interests, visual style and working methods.

Our degree program equips you with the technical and conceptual skills required to become skilled, innovative image makers.
