2012 Short Internship Program
In 2012 there will be four positions available for students at Queensland College of Art. Work takes place at Nathan campus, where the Griffith University Art Collection is housed. Each position is voluntary and involves one day a week over the course of twelve weeks. This internship is designed to provide the successful participants with valuable first-hand experience in Collections Management and museological practices.
Griffith Artworks will be seeking four motivated and organised individuals with sound research skills to assist Collections staff. Each intern will be offered an opportunity to expand their knowledge of Collection Management through areas such as
- Arts administration
- Safe artwork handling
- Monitoring storage conditions
- Art collection archiving, storage and maintenance
- KE EMu training
- Occupational health and safety issues for public galleries
- Research skills
- Exhibition design and installation systems
An information session will be held for Queensland College of Art students on Wednesday 29 February at 1pm, at the Griffith South Bank Graduate Centre (S07) Room 2.16. One of our past interns will be there to talk about her experiences in the program.
The application form is now available. If you have queries concerning any aspects of the 2012 internship contact Camille Serisier, Curatorial Collections Officer.
