2008 Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art Graduate Exhibition - 'ArtisHere'
Exhibition 15- 22 November, Project Gallery, Queensland College of Art
The Indigenous art program is designed to prepare you, as an Indigenous Australian, for practice as a professional artist. The program is focused on traditional Australian Indigenous art media, styles and forms, together with strategies for their viable adaptation within a highly urbanised society. It is planned in accordance with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander principles and philosophies. Teaching respects Aboriginal laws concerning the ways in which techniques and images may be used. The program is organised around research into each student's own family history and traditions. It incorporates field trips to Indigenous communities and gives attention to contemporary culture and politics.
You may apply to continue your studies through an honours program.
