Trevor Lyons Award

Trevor Lyons was a QCA student and staff member in the late 1980's. Not only was he an exceptional artist but also a person with a great passion for printmaking.  A mature age student, Trevor had previously served as a Lieutenant in the Vietnam war and made an extraordinary road trip with his family in a converted bus around Australia making and selling his artwork.  Unfortunately. in his last year of study at QCA he was diagnosed with cancer and sadly died not long after.  His family and the QCA printmaking staff established the Trevor Lyons Memorial Award after his untimely death and each year since we have acknowledged this exceptional individual by awarding a prize to the student who has demonstrated that same determination and passion in their printmaking studies".

The 2011 Trevor Lyons Award, presented to an outstanding student from the graduating class that has contributed their work in the Print Media field and in 2011 is awarded to Jennie Wright.
