Fee-paying students
Fee-paying students who fail to pay their tuition fees by the census date will have their enrolment cancelled. Before a cancelled student can be reinstated they must:
- pay all outstanding fees and charges plus a $100 reinstatement charge; and
- request reinstatement in writing to the Director, Student Administration.
International students who have been cancelled should contact Griffith International immediately. Cancellation of enrolment will affect your student visa.
Commonwealth supported students
Commonwealth supported students who have not paid the Student Contribution Charge or provided their Tax File Number by the census date will have their enrolment cancelled.
New Zealand citizens and Australian Permanent Residents are not eligible to defer their Student Contribution Charges.
This is a requirement of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth).
All students
If a student's account has an outstanding balance as at the census date, a late payment charge of $70 will be imposed and a service restriction will be placed on their record.
The service restriction will remain until the student has paid all outstanding fees and charges including any late payment charges.
Whilst fees and charges remain outstanding:
- the student's grades will be withheld;
- no academic transcript will be provided;
- the student will be prevented from graduating; and
- the student will be prevented from making any adjustments to current enrolment or enrolling in future semesters.
If you have a service restriction you will be notified when you log on to the Griffith Portal.
A service restriction will also be placed on your student record if you have outstanding library charges. This means you could be prevented from viewing your grades or graduating from your program until this service restriction is resolved.
