International
An International student is someone who is NOT:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen
- or a person who has permanent resident status.
Students are liable for tuition fees for the courses they are enrolled in as at the census date for the semester.
The fee schedule sets out the tuition fees for undertaking a Griffith program.
Calculating the tuition fees for your full degree program
Tuition fees for International students are current for the duration of the student's enrolment in that program. If an International student changes to a different program, they will be subject to the fees applicable to the new program for the semester they commence in that program.
An example of calculating your tuition fees
To calculate your tuition fees, you will need to find the total number of credit points to complete your degree program and the fee per credit point for your degree program.
To find the total credit points to complete your program, you will need to browse or search for your program on Griffith's Programs and courses website.
The example illustrated below is for students commencing the Bachelor of Arts (program code 1021) in 2008.
The total credit point value for your program is displayed on the program overview screen. In this example, the total credit point value is 240 credit points.
To find the fee per credit point, click on the link for International students under program fees.
Find the value which corresponds with the year in which you commenced. In this example, the student has commenced in 2008, so the fee per credit point is $179.00.
So multiply 240 (credit points) by $179.00 (the fee per credit point).
The total cost for an International student commencing the Bachelor of Arts in 2008 will be $42960.00 or $14320.00 per year of full-time study.
What happens if you change your residency status?
If, after commencing study in the program, a student obtains permanent resident status in Australia and provides evidence of permanent resident status prior to the census date (of the semester in which they are enrolled), the student will be provided with a non-International fee-paying place.
The student may then apply for a Commonwealth supported place at the next admission period provided that the student satisfies the relevant conditions. Please see the Fees and charges policy for information in relation to International students obtaining permanent residency status in Australia.
