Undergraduate (Domestic) students
The majority of students who are studying undergraduate programs are recognised as Commonwealth supported students. This means that you are required to make a contribution to the cost of your education with the majority of the cost met by the Commonwealth Government.
Postgraduate (Domestic) students
There are a small number of programs available for postgraduate study which admit students on a Commonwealth supported basis.
Please refer to the Programs and courses website to see if your postgraduate program is Commonwealth supported.
How much is the student contribution charge?
The student contribution charge for each course (subject) will vary depending on the BAND to which the course belongs.
The amounts shown in the tables represent the cost of full-time enrolment for a full year if all courses studied are within that band. This is usually 80 credit points or four courses (subjects) per semester and will vary depending on the degree studied. The student contribution charge is subject to Consumer Price Index increases.
Standard full-time load programs
Most students will study in a standard enrolment load program and these programs consist of 80 credit points per year. The standard bachelors program has a duration of three years or six semesters of full-time study.
Non-standard full-time load programs
There are a number of Griffith programs that have a non-standard full-time enrolment load per year which can alter the student contribution charge of each course in that program. An example is the Bachelor of Forensic Science/Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (1368) which requires four years of full-time study and the completion of 350 credit points.

Can I defer payment of the student contribution charge?
The Commonwealth Government offers a number of loans to eligible students known as HELP - Higher Education Loan Program.
