Globalisation and Corporate Social Responsibility (7415MGT)
This course explores various concepts associated with globalisation and its impact on management practice. While rejecting some of the more extreme ideas associated with globalisation (i.e. that the nation state no longer has any significance for business operations), the course explores the drivers for, and impacts of, global competitiveness and changing international business practices. In particular, the course looks at the ways in which both the benchmarking of 'best practice' in the area of work organisation and the universalisation of various business norms are driving globalisation, rather than being a response to it.
