Research
Australia and other developed countries have become much wealthier and in many respects happier and healthier since World War 2. However, many other indicators suggest deteriorating trends in individual, community and societal wellbeing in the same period. The major research focus of the Program is therefore threefold:
- Exploring the nature of societal and individual 'wellbeing' and 'the good life';
- Understanding the reasons for both negative and positive trends and existing patterns in individual, family, community and societal wellbeing in post-industrial societies; and
- Developing ways of promoting improved wellbeing in Australia and internationally.
