Operations
The Queensland Compound Library is a facility in which any organisation can deposit molecules and natural product extracts. The samples can be accessed by the scientific community as biological probes or potential starting points in a drug discovery program.
Several policies have been developed to assist the general operations of such a large and diverse community made possible through public funding.

Others specifically address the depositing of natural product extracts or natural products isolated from the biosphere:
- Compliance with the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity
- Access rights, traditional knowledge and intellectual property of indigenous peoples
