To operate at world's best practice, the Queensland Compound Library has to:
- Preserve sample integrity for extended periods (5+ years)
- Deliver sample requests in a timely manner
After an extensive evaluation, a system configuration consisting of three main building blocks was chosen:
- Microtube storage
- Sample processing unit
- Microplate storage
The end product integrates environmentally controlled tube and plate storage with sample processing ensuring compound integrity without compromising flexibility. Each of the main elements has a modular, scalable design so that additional units can be added to cater for capacity building and throughput increases with minimal disruption to on-going operations.
