The Environmental Education Expo is on again this year. It is being held at the Everton Park State School on Wednesday 11th March.

Queensland Schools 2008 'Sustainable Living Champions'
Two Queensland schools have been listed among 13 schools nationwide as 'Sustainable Living Champions'.
- Wondai State School, for their whole school project entitled Earthwise Energies Community Permaculture Garden; and
- All Saints Anglican College, for their whole school project entitled Sustainability at All Saints (SAS).
2008 Green Door Foundation Going Green Grant
This year's grant is around the theme of Transition Culture (Transition culture involves planning for and finding solutions to living in an energy'depleted world) and reduced carbon footprints.Grants of $1000 to $5000 are available.
Green Door Foundation would like to encourage educators who are helping young people and their families to prepare for this new world. We are looking for projects that encourage school communities to creatively embrace a smaller carbon footprint (see Carbon Calculator).
Applications should be submitted by 24 October 2008 on the Expression of Interest Form (below)which may be saved to your computer for editing. Winner(s) will be announced by 24 November 2008. The winning project(s) will be run in the 2009 school year.
Queensland Schools Take the Sustainability Challenge!
Queensland schools are taking the challenge to 'green' their school communities by signing up to the 2008 Sustainable Living Challenge. The project sees schools compete for national prizes by coming up with the most successful, innovative, or simply inspiring project to green their environment. The Challenge is hosted nationally by University of New South Wales in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program.
Schools switch on to solar option
Almost 1400 schools across Australia have signed up for solar energy, federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett says.

ARC Linkage Research Project
Contribution of the programs delivered by the Education Queensland's 25 Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres to Learning for Sustainability demonstrated by the students that participate in their programs.
The project was designed to:
- Improve our understanding of the role and impact of nature-based environmental learning experiences;
- Identify factors that facilitate learning for sustainability; and
- Develop empirically-based principles to support Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres.
Developed by The Natural Edge Project, the Engineering Sustainable Solutions Program provides quality curriculum materials focussed on accelerating education for sustainable development in engineering and the built environment.
