The world needs mathematicians. Maths graduates possess many desirable generic skills including logical thinking, precision of language and problem solving abilities, in addition to an understanding of the specific mathematical techniques and their applications. Our mathematics graduates have gained employment in a variety of public service organisations and departments, in business and technology consulting firms, as programmers in software companies, and in the insurance, finance and banking industries.
Opportunities also exist for further training to enter the teaching profession, and for higher degrees which may lead to academic and research positions.
