Our oceans cover 70% of the surface of the earth and this massive body of water is under constant threat from the pressures of our modern society. With growing issues such as global climate change, food production and waste management, the need for highly trained and specialised marine science professionals is growing as is the need to address and manage these complex issues if our marine life is to survive and thrive.
Griffith’s Marine Science programs not only provide the core foundations in the basic sciences needed to understand the complexity of marine science but expand to provide specialised study areas to produce focused and highly skilled professionals sought after by industry both local and abroad. With various disciplinary areas such Geographic Information Systems, Marine Ecosystems, Satellite Oceanography and Environmental Monitoring Techniques our programs are as diverse as they are stimulating.
As Industry moves towards addressing the issues and proactively work towards improving the health of our marine environment, Griffith too is providing the specialisations needed to produce these highly skilled individuals who will contribute to the long term benefit of our marine ecosystems. Our specialisations will allow individuals to choose a career path which will not only fuel their passion but provide a long term, career opportunity.
