Payment of scholarships
Payments are generally made after Census date each semester either directly into your nominated bank account or, for some scholarships, as a payment against the student contribution charge (Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarships).
Scholarship payments are paid directly into your bank account after the Census Date (usually the fifth week in each semester).
To receive payment, ensure you have supplied the following information on your acceptance form:
- Financial Institution Name
- Financial Institution Account Number
- BSB Number (must be 6 digits)
- Name in which the account is held
The completed forms are then sent to:
- Location, Delivery and Postal Address

Re-eligibility
You will be required to prove your eligibility for the scholarship for each semester after your original scholarship offer. This is called re-eligibility. Existing scholarship holders will be sent an email at the beginning of each semester reminding you to return your re-eligibility forms. All forms must be returned by the due date or payment may be delayed. You should return the re-eligibility form even if you think you are no longer eligible to receive the scholarship. A determination of eligibility will be made on your circumstances.
Problems with scholarship payments may occur if:
- incorrect banking details are supplied
- you fail to return the re-eligibility form
- you fail to sign the re-eligibility form
- your student email box is full and no mail can be received
- you return your re-eligibility form via an email account other than your student email (re-eligiblity forms must always be returned via your student email account)
- you do not return the original email sent to you with the re-eligibility form (that is, ‘Reply with History’, then include your banking details)
- you incorrectly complete the form advising full-time status (students not enrolled in the appropriate number of Credit Points to be classified as a full-time student can jeopardise the scholarship and Centrelink benefit payments). Always check your full-time status (usually more than 30 credit points per semester), especially if you are studying a dual degree.
- you do not provide appropriate documentation to prove reasons for part-time status, i.e. carer responsibilities, disability. Part-time students have different requirements to comply with for various scholarships, so please familiarise yourself with the Terms and Conditions for your scholarship.
- the maximum number of payments have been made.
Payment advice
Students will be advised via student email when monies are being deposited. Some financial institutions impose a small fee to process the scholarship benefit. Students should discuss any fees with their relevant financial institution. Please be aware that the transfer of funds to your financial institution may take several days. Ensure you supply Griffith with your current, correct banking details to avoid payment delays.
