Accommodation scholarships

Set amidst natural bushland, the six Griffith University Residential Colleges provide clean, comfortable and safe accommodation for over 900 students. About a third of the residential population is made up of international students who have come from over 30 different countries. As part of a supportive, culturally diverse community, you will have an ideal opportunity to learn about and to share cross-cultural experiences.

Since 2002, The George Alexander Foundation has generously supported Griffith University though the provision of accommodation scholarships. For the period 2008-2013, eight (8) scholarships will be awarded each year to students who wish to reside in the Bellenden Ker (Nathan campus), Mt Gravatt and Gold Coast Colleges. These scholarships are valued at $7500. The University is extremely grateful to The George Alexander Foundation for its continued support which makes a significant difference to the lives of the scholarship recipients.

Kellie Wroe Memorial

Kellie Wroe

Kellie Wroe was a valued member of the community at Mt Gravatt College from February 1994 until her death in April 1997 from complications after a long battle with cancer. Kellie was an active member of the Mt Gravatt Residents’ Association and was elected president in October, 1996. She was admired for her enthusiastic outlook on life and her belief that everything she did could make a difference.

The Kellie Wroe Memorial scholarship was established by the residents of Mt Gravatt College with the assistance of Campus Life. It honours Kellie’s achievement and contributions to Mt Gravatt College by assisting a resident who has shown qualities similar to Kellie’s - academic and sporting success, and commitment to the residential community and the University.
