Important Note to Applicants

System difficulties or questions are to be referred in the first instance to Tina Anderson or Alicia Hopkins email ore-grants@griffith.edu.au, ext 57785 or 57378.

1. Download and read ARC LIEF information from the ARC
Information will be available at http://www.arc.gov.au/ncgp/lief/lief_default.htm. You should download the Funding Rules (PDF 320k), Instructions to Applicants (PDF 512k), for funding commencing in 2013, and also two certification forms, one for organisations and one for individuals.
2. Complete the application form in RMS
Instructions, troubleshooting and tips on completing your application in RMS are available in the Instructions to Applicants. Other resources to assist you are available by clicking on 'Resources' in the red box above on the left, or using the following links:
  • Codes and classifications (FoR and SEO codes)
  • GU descriptors for research related staff positions (DOC 28k)
  • GU salary scales for ARC budgets

All research staff are advised to update their personal details in RMS before beginning an application. This will ensure auto-population of relevant information in the application form.

3. Complete PDF section
The ARC LIEF application process requires that many sections of the application form be completed in separate word documents and then converted to PDF. (Note: Do not scan documents) Researchers are advised that they will need software that will allow them to create a pdf document, such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, to undertake this task.
4. Complete the Certification proforma
Download the Certification proforma and obtain all signatures. Allow plenty of time to obtain the signatures of the contributing organisations – these have to be signed off by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) or equivalent person at your partner’s organisation, and these people are not always available at a moment’s notice.
