Centenary of Federation Medal

  • Professor Mark Finnane - was awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal in 2003 for service to Australian society and the humanities in history
  • Emeritus Professor Ian Lowe - was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2002 for contributions to the understanding of climate change and environmental issues and was also made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2001 for services to science and technology and for contributing to public understanding of environmental issues

  • Professor Ross Homel - Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2009 for service to education, particularly in the field of criminology, through research into the causes of crime, early intervention and prevention methods
  • Emeritus Professor Ian Lowe - Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2001 for services to science and technology and for contributing to public understanding of environmental issues and was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2002 for contributions to environmental science
  • Emeritus Professor Colin Mackerras - Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2007 for service to Asian studies and international relations, particularly in the field of Chinese society, culture and language
