
Professor Alfred Lam is the Foundation Chair, Professor of Pathology and Head of Pathology at Griffith University, Australia. He is a senior visiting specialist in Pathology Queensland and provides a referral consultancy service to Queensland, other parts of Australia and overseas. Professor Lam also has contributed to the development of pathology curriculum in a number of medical schools. He is the Assistant Chief Examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. His central research focus is on molecular pathology of human cancers, particularly thyroid, head/neck/oral/oesophageal, adrenal and colorectal cancers. A regularly invited speaker at national and international conferences, he also has developed extensive collaborations with cancer centers in Asia-Pacific region. He is one of the invited authors of the World Health Organization?s classification of tumors of endocrine system published in 2005 and is an editor of the journals, Pathology and Endocrine Pathology. Professor Lam has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters.
