Biography
Mikhail Krasavin received undergraduate chemistry training in St. Petersburg State University, Russia (1997) and in 1999 obtained his Master of Arts degree in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry at Johns Hopkins University at Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He worked as a bench medicinal chemist for Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories in the US before assuming a higher responsibility position as an Associate Director for Custom Synthesis at Chemical Diversity Research Institute (CDRI) (Khimki-Moscow), the main research site of ChemDiv, Inc., a major drug discovery contract research organisation operating from San Diego, California, USA.
He completed his PhD dissertation work in 2006, while working at CDRI. After a short postdoctoral visit to McGill University, Mikhail returned (2007) to ChemDiv as the Head of Medicinal Chemistry for Moscow site. In addition to his main responsibilities in that role, he devoted significant time to academic work that resulted in three PhD theses defended (2010) under his supervision as well as his own defense (May 2011) of Doctor of Chemical Sciences dissertation (Habilitation).
Dr Krasavin joined Eskitis Institute in September 2011.
